The childhood obesity epidemic is one of the most important public health issues facing our country today. Solutions to the epidemic must go far beyond simplistic calls for people to eat better and exercise more. Dr. Goldstein described the role that public health policy has begun playing in the obesity prevention movement in California and implications for this work through the country.
